Free Battery Pack for Padfone 2

Asus Taiwan has just announced that customers who order their Padfone from Taiwan (through official Telcos such as Chung Hwa Telcom) before 18th November will get a special battery pack for free.

There is minimal information that we know of the battery pack. It's branded Mega King and sports a 6600 mAh as depicted. It's available in white. The RRP is at NTD 1990 or about €50.

Knowing that the Asus Padfone 2 has no removable cover/battery, this could well be a good replacement for people who are always on the move. Asus really knows how to pull the trick with its customers. Well, almost, except that there is no keyboard dock for Padfone 2 .

Come on Asus, I see this as a trick to let us forget about the fact that it does not have a keyboard dock...

New Padfone Infinity (A86, Titanium Black, 32GB, Taiwan/CHT) + TransKeyboard owner since 03-03-14, hard bricked itself on 24-12-15, replaced with new NPFI 32GB on 17-01-16, this one (soft)bricked itself on 31-01-17, received new one on 15-02-2017, died within an hour due to partition issues.

The Padfone 1 combines the best from two worlds. You get a decent smartphone with a tablet, that you can also use as a netbook with mouse + keyboard + a few other external USB devices.

Maybe the Padfone 3 will make it all better and go back to it's roots...
