Only recently, I've found out that by right, on ICS (and hence on JB 4.1 also), one should be able to access the notifications menu directly from the lockscreen.

However, I'm not able to do it on my Padfone. I've tried using different kinds of lockscreen (slider, pattern), but none of them work.

I am able to view notifications on my lockscreen by downloading alternative lock screen apps from google play, but the problem with downloading third-party apps on padfones is that these apps tend to go haywire as I insert my padfone into the padfone station...

Anyone else faces the same problem? How can I view my notification menu from my lockscreen?

Your padfone is on JB, and I never had this feature on any of my phone, and I think it's a really bad idea to have this feature...
What's the point of giving access to some information on your locked phone ?
Then don't lock it...
If you lock it, it's because : 1- You don't want anyone to access private data.
2- You don't want your phone to live by himself in your pocket.
If you're on the second position, it could be a good feature, but what if you have a notification and you click on it ?
Does it launch any apps ?
If yes : your phone can still live by himself.
If no : So what's the point ?
