yes but they said they couldn't deliver it because of so called hardware issues

Also I can't find anything official about it, when searching for the filename.
It's tempting, but I don't feel safe.

What do you mean by hardware issues ? - Are you talking about Lolipop on A86?

I'm about to update one of my A86 to Lolipop - should I do it?

before deciding to work on lollipop for a86 asus claimed they would not do it because the processor was not compatible, which was a lie… then they changed their mind.
if you don't use root go ahead and tell is what you think, i hope this fixes your station problem because usually a new version upgrades the station firmware.

I'll do this when I get home tonight and let you all know what I think.

I've not had root (and am missing it) since KitKat, mainly because I'm too lazy to flash back to the rootable version and then upgrade.

Hmm, that's mean my Lolipop A86 will update the firmware on the Tablet (which will probably make it work again)

Now my question is: My other A86 (I have 2) which I need root on it will stay with KitKat (until root will become available on Lolipop) - are there any chance to be incompatible with the Tablet (which was updated to the latest firmware by the Lolipop A86) ?

what do you think?

Firmware is working, no factory reset necessary (but recommended).

No luck with root yet, bootloader is locked.

Beside that everything is working very good so far.

Updated last night as I said, everything seems great. Still responsive and nice Lollipop features.

Unable to root though.
