it doesn't matter WHERE you are - all that matters is what version ( SKU) of Padfone you have. You could have a TW SKU Padfone 2 and live in Antartic and still get the update the same as if you lived in Taiwan!! - it's not geographically based!!!

I think the 4.1.2 was a typo earlier - its still "only" 4.1.1
But I see improvements in camera performance, and contacts application no longer make multiple entries of the same contact, and theres a new contacts widget (really missed that one coming from other Android phones)

Battery consumption as also increased after the firmware update. I am thinking about reverting back to the previous update. Is it possible to downgrade ?

no problems with the new update here, its not a general issue.

There will allways be individual setups that reacts differently depending on how the phone is configured before the update, different apps installed react differently, you may have had some app installed that doesnt react well to the new version and cause the problems. Instead of trying to downgrade start by doing a full reset and then test the phone before installing alot of apps. Battery drain or the phone running hot are usually caused by some rogue app running in the background causing the cpu to run constantly. Lots of apps are not yet updated to support Jelly Bean properly.

Then install one app at a time and take note along the way and you may find out which apps cause problems

After WWE 10.4.9.6-0 update, found phone contact list empty and Chrome browser corrupted. Once again, before proceed with any update, double check your backups.

spawndk, thank you for your advice.
In fact I have talked to a friend that also has the Padfone 2 updated without any problems.
Where can I do the full reset ? (I am an Android newbie...)
