Any credibility Gizbot may have had immediately flew out of the window with this statement - "In 2007, Apple iPhone changed the ergonomics of design. It was a smartphone crafted with bold aluminum moves."
The iPhone didn't adopt the "bold aluminium moves" until the iPhone 4, which didn't appear until mid-2010. If we're talking about use of aluminium in general, HTC's been doing it since at least 2003 and I've no doubt there've been other 'phone manufacturers using aluminium as a shell material well prior to that.
Whilst Asus may well be showing a new 'phone at MWC, I doubt very much it'll be the PadFone 3 - if they know what's good for them, they won't be releasing that until very late this year at the earliest. Not only so they can capitalise on the still-booming PadFone 2 sales, but also to give themselves a chance to iron out bugs before releasing it, for a change!
edit: nevermind, it's weird that I forgot that I already read when Asus gonna held the press conference it would be cool if it's PF3 and the phone is inserted to a 7/8 inch tablet instead of 10
No I'm just kidding, I don't know... But I'm starting to get the feeling it's going to be that rumoured 7" intel based FonePad thing... But we'll know tomorrow
Sorry, curiosity's gotten the better of me and I was hoping that Asus would have already "spilt the beans" by now as it's already the 25th in Taiwan, but it looks like they'll be doing their press release on the 25th in Europe (and knowing our luck it'll be some time in the afternoon), so still a few hours to go (12.5 hours actually, according to the countdown timer).
I'm beginning to think now based on the FonePad link from the article JustinTan linked to, that it'll be an extra-large "phablet," a 7-inch tablet which can also make 'phone calls. Their "when Pad and Phone come together" slogan coupled with Columbus talking into his tablet would seem to indicate this, though I don't know what they're referencing with the spaceship/church docking.
Exactly. Especially considering that until now it sounds "just" like a Galaxy Note clone which already is a pretty good device which has its market/buyers.
So, Asus really needs to come up with something special about it in order to sell it.
I´d say they took this direction some time ago. I mean, the average screen size of a phone has gone from around 3" to 4.7" in about 3 years. Which is very unfortunate imo.
