Hi, I'm wondering if the padfone station (be it padfone 1,2 or infinity) can be connected to a non-asus android phone to be used as an external larger touchscreen? I have samsung note 3 and would love to see this work. I know it might require some modding and some special cables. I don't expect the phone to fit into the padfone station, just to connect to it using some sort of extension female-male microusb cable.
No, the stations only work with Padfones (other devices will most likely not even fit)...
But there is a company (ExoTablet) working on a universal station to support most modern brands like Galaxy S3, S4, Nexus phones etc. But they don't seem to be able to pull it off for some reason...
Thanks for your response. Anybody else knows if it can be done?
Just to repeat what i said in my original post, i don't need to slot the phone INTO the padfone station. I just want to know if some modified cable would be able to do the trick. If it can be done, I'd buy a padfone station right away.

The front camera of the padfone station may be correctly detected by app MScopes, even from another non-asus phone: see this message shown on my padfone S plus (called padfone S2 on this forum).
