I got sick of my phone's lens looking like an early 2010's quality, so here below is a video tutorial i made for cleaning it easily (without voiding the warranty).
Great tutorial. Is there any fix so that it wont get dust there ever again? Can the plastic "lens" be glued in any way? I'm about to do this procedure.
i have been using Padfone 2 for 5 months now into a very dusty enviroment. From the day i bought it i had put a plastic nail into the hole of the handfree. I bought it on-line for this purpose. My lens is as clean as the first day!
With regards to gluing your lens down, I would advise against it. The make of the product isn't great and so I'd just rinse and repeat what I've done in the video.
I like Gharar's idea, could you show us some photo's?
I also had this problem from the begining. But when my phone got "bricked" and sent to ASUS for repair, I also asked them to clean and fix the lens dust issue. When I got it back the lens was in perfect condition and ASUS service said they had fixed the issue. However, as I didn´t want to take any chances, once the phone was in my hands, my solution was making a small mold out of an inflatable silicone ear plug which completely seals the headfone jack. This was in June 2013. Almost a year has passed with no issues. When I want/need I remove the plug (with a small paper clip or even my nail) and it inflates back to the original form. Then I just srew it in again and everything is fine. I don't use the headfone jack very often, anyway.
