If you have a custom recovery, just load the apk into your phone sdcard (copy and paste). Then go into your custom recovery, hit the install option, choose the apk and install that. It will ask you to fix root permissions after (if successful) do so, and then restart phone.

If you're on stock KitKat use this: https://diegomejia.globat.com/android/towelroot/tr1.apk

It will reboot your phone. Once rebooted, download Superuser (NOT SuperSU, I insist on this) from Play Store and you're done.

Thanks a lot, root worked fine with this towelroot v1, but superuser didn't manage permissions so I went back to superSU and that's OK now. Maybe bc Google play first restored SuperSU while I wasn't rooted.

new OTA is available "11.8.10.60"

i did rename it myself, (for 11.8.10.54 to 11.8.10.60)

just place it in /ASUS/Update then you'll see the update message
