My padfone2 suddenly (very suddenly, because I dropped it on the floor, like 2 feet) can't read the SIMcard anymore. It just says NO SIMCARD. Anything else workes great, Wi-Fi works, so no trouble getting online. But I can't use the phone part. Any good ideas out there ??
If I'm not wrong, SIM contact pad is connected to the logic board via cable/connector. You can try to fix yourself removing back cover and disassembling the internal frame. Under there should be present the SIM pad and relevant connector to the logic board. It is a mere tentative, but maybe better option than send the phone back to nowhere for assistance..... Of course do it at your own risk.
Unluckily, I have to say, you were wrong. I have the same problem as henrik and just opened up the phone. The sim-connector is soldered to the mainboard, 8 pins. I see nothing wrong with the connection here. The only thing is that of four "tiny feet", keeping the sim card holder in place, two seem to be loose. Nevertheless, they rather look glued than soldered. Does anybody have an idea or a similar problem? (Btw: This padafone was not dropped, it really just stoped working out of nowhere) - See attachments for a visual impression.
